Tanay is the former founder and former CEO of FreeCap Financial, Inc., an ESG data and research company she built and successfully exited in 2026. She has raised over $1M in non-dilutive funding to incubate social ventures, in part through prestigious fellowships, including Echoing Green, Fulbright, Halcyon Incubator, and Roddenberry Foundation. She is a 40 Under 40 Black Women in Asset Management awardee for her work in public markets — including creating the first and only public equities index tracking corporate leaders in decarceration. A foodie, NBA fan, and lover of hip-hop, Tanay is a proud alum of Vassar College and the Fletcher School at Tufts University. She lives with her adorable kiddos and spouse in Washington, DC.
